Haiku for a heat wave week
1
humid soft evening,
storm washed grass muddy, squishes
darkest green flattened
2
sultry sun-choked hush
pink orange flushed horizon
better days ahead?
3
withering air blasts,
immediate sweat damp hair
sticks to neck, curling
4
hazy sun dapples heat,
squirrels and birds find glass bowls
glittering water
5
scorching heat anguish,
birds flitter into deep shade
angry chatter flows
6
syrup thick twilight,
indigo purple tinged clouds
waiting for the rain

Your Haikus are great! I liked #6 a lot – the rain will often chase the oppressive heat and humidity away 😊

Thank you! Unfortunately in this instance, the storm just made the humidity worse 😦
